Time roles slowly by.
Faces change, people die.
I'm lost in this sea of ever-twisting minds.
Reality has taken hold.
Awakens fear, awakens doubt.
Life as we knew it was just a facade.

No longer shielded, you can no longer hide.
Life is here, burning us all.

Hate is a destroyer.
Releasing vengeance, weakens the chain.
It will be our downfall should we let it reign.

This is song lyrics that I hope to someday have turned into an actual song. For once it's not a love song, but a warning to anyone entering the "real world" stating that everything they thought and prepared for is not actual reality. It's a warning to high schoolers about to graduate, those about to move out of their parents homes, those about to hit a large struggle, that we are what shapes our lives and the future. It is our decisions in life that will either make or break all of us. "Together we stand, divided we fall" symbolizes how when we work together we are stronger than when we try to go it alone and start fighting amongst ourselves. We accomplish nothing when we are at war with one another, but we can do great things when we work together.
I wrote this with personal feelings of how reality smacked me hard in the face when I was kicked from my parents home when I was 19. The real world is not easy, it does not have mercy on you, and it will destroy you if you try to go it alone and refuse the help of others. You can not succeed alone anymore these days. You NEED others to help push you in the right direction and keep you focused and strong. Without the help of other people i'd have been 6 feet deep years ago.
I would love criticism on this piece. So please, be completely honest with me.
Oh, and the () parts are either whispered or screamed, and the song will be a fast-paced rock song similar to my friends band (whom i'm hoping takes the bait and actually uses this >.> ).
